UniDocs SERVER


UniDocs SERVER consists of a database cartridge which can be implemented into Oracle or MS SQL Server systems of data management, and of an application server which provides document database handling, user directories management, and unique access to all functions of UniDocs server. It provides full security of databases and files, and remarkable scalability due to the possibility of use of redundant applicative servers with the automatic load balancing, as well as highly flexible method of installation of system server section.

UniDocs server consists of three main server modules which could be placed on separate server computers, or installed on the same server computer, depending on the number of users, the quantity of documents and other parameters that can affect system performance. These are:

 

UniDocs DB Server metamodel with the program procedures implemented in Oracle or MS SQL Server DBMS environment.

 

UniDocs App Server - application server is responsible for all operations with file documents. This module provides automatic naming and storing files, documents storage on storing disks, and also backup of documents to the personal users directories, in accordance with the requirements of the user for viewing or editing the document. This module can be installed on a separate computer, or combined to other server modules. In the case of a large number of users and transactions from the file documents, UniDocs App Server can be installed on the cluster, large number of computers on which users will be automatically directed to by "load balancing" module, which is an integrated part of this module.

 

UniDocs Web Server - the server is a mandatory component in all installations that include the use of UniDocs Client module Web version. Requires MS IIS (Internet Information Server) and can be installed on a separate server computer, or combined with some of the remaining server modules.
